Ed, I would need the p-codes to help. Also, is 11367843117 exhaust side the same as 11367843118 intake side, or would I need to order a pair for both respective sides. The vehicle has 91k miles. But when I suspect one is faulty, I swap sides, if the fault follows the solenoids, I know the solenoid is faulty. If I let go of the gas, the issue goes away in a few minutes. You may have an engine mechanical issue with that cyl. That can be due to sludge or jamming. I change both new solenoids vanos . Some have suggested the throttle actuator or high pressure fuel pump but the other symptoms usually associated with these issues aren't present. I have an e92 M3 83k miles and have the yellow engine light come on. The engine improved slightly but still shakingmisfiring. took the car to an independant garage for diagnosos..his computer is saying cylinder 1 is misfiring. However, my vanos solenoid valve exhaust seems to be 'wet' to the connector as noticed a couple of hours. Rattles take many different forms. It is located at the front and side of the cylinder head. Fredrik, What and when are you using for the throttle data? That fault code doesn't show up for me. I have an error code 2A87 and im not sure if there is anything else other than the vanos solenoid that could cause this code. It is worth removing and cleaning the solenoids. The two stalling episodes happened far apart. My car does not indicate a fault error of batt being low and suppose to recharge when inserted. is it safe to drive it like this. I would like say to all friends here in this section: Don't switch oil brand or oil grade when you find that your engine has been running with the one you've been using Perfectly. Could be a module fault. It was idling poorly and when I accelerated it would cut off and on like it was going to die. did you do the vanos screens as suggested ? I would bring it in. The Day after my check engine light came on then it shut back off. Mechanical timing could be off, quite common on these engine for the timing chain guides to wear out. I presume your engine has VANOS screens upstream of the solenoids in the oil circuit; if so, remove, inspect, and clean/replace them. Please Help. You can also with a pair of alligator ended jump cables test with 12 VDC no polarity neededthe solenoid open and close of the valve. - Nick at Pelican Parts, Just changed the vanos solenoids on an 05 e90. if so, clean and reinstall. The VANOS actuator on each camshaft is supplied with engine oil under pressure; a solenoid controlled by the engine control module (ECM) retards or advances camshaft timing by modifying the supply of pressurized oil to the VANOS actuator. They are fairly economical and you're always better off replacing a degrading part. Car feels like it has some misfires from time to time before it loses power. Not sure where to look next. I can't help without knowing what is missing from the system when you are trying to start it. One for the intake camshaft and one for the exhaust camshaft, mounted to the front of cylinder head. - Nick at Pelican Parts. - I unplugged the intake solenoid exhaust plugged and drove for 300meters. Do you think replacing vanos would resolve the issue and not entirely sure what the fault for the MAF sensor means. If out of spec, it could be the VANOS unit. They were able to confirm that the Vanos solenoids are covered under the 15 year/150k mile warranty. I would also recommend having him replace the eccentric shaft sensor because they seem to fail around the same time as the valve in the cover. If the signal was erratic when starting. Changed Exhaust Vanos solenoid lower one of the two, and my E90 runs like a dream again. Could be fuel delivery or engine compression if not ignition. Researched and found vanes solenoid problem. My car 2005 e90 325i N52 was burning oil, needed to add 1l every 500km/300miles
A mechanic changed CCV , while changing it, we found out the old crankcase hose was not even connected to the CCV. 2 Rattle will disappear when I shift to Neutral
